Incredible fly for fishing dock lights for snook, tarpon, and snapper. Try using copper krystal flash or using Living Eyes for other variants. Don't go too big - smaller usually works better at night on the dock lights!
How to tie a The Dock Is In Fly
Step
1
Tie in a pair of bead chain eyes about one eye length behind the eye of the hook
Step
2
Lay a thread base to the bend of the hook
Step
3
Dub the body with the Ice Dub. Leave a small gap between the body and the bead chain eyes to tie in your wing
Step
4
Tie in your wing of Steve Farrar Flash Blend. Cut it a little bit longer than the bend of the hook. Taper slightly if you prefer.
Step
5
Tie in 3 or 4 doubled over strands of Krystal Flash over the wing
Step
6
Continue dubbing over the snipped ends of the wing, and over the eyes in a figure eight pattern. The dubbing should go up to the eye of the hook.
Step
7
Whip finish, and optionally use UV Clear or your favorite head cement. You can also use a bodkin to pick out the body a little - it should be wiry!
